Modern Home Computer

As you can see from the comments, it's unfortunately a fake. Good picture though.

By the way, I'm manually approving comments to limit spam. In two hours eleven people spotted the problem and wrote a comment. The power of the net!

I'm trying to get Typekey working so people can register and have comments be posted automatically. Patience.

Updates on Treo, Moveable Type

I've confirmed that there are quality control problems with Treo 600's. I'm on my third unit. The first two developed defects in the screen fairly soon after receipt. So far the third one is holding up. Palm One replaced the defective units without charge so I was happy about that at least. I've pre-ordered a Treo 650 which I'm told by an insider who wishes to remain anonymous is the first Handspring unit being manufactured for quality at high production volumes. The 650 reportedly has a better keyboard (that would help) and Bluetooth support.

I find that when I synchronize my calendar (Macintosh iCal) with the 600 many events show up twice on the Treo. Can anyone point me to the best forum or discussion board for this type of problem? I suspect there's some particular condition or issue related to the specifics of what I'm doing which is causing this problem. These are not repeating events or multi-day events, just plain vanilla events.

I've also made progress in controlling spam in the Weblog comments at the cost of having to manually approve them which gives me the opportunity to delete the spam before it's ever published. Seems like a less laborious solution should be possible. Probably there is one and it's just not obvious how to me to how to set it up.
