Every Tuesday, including today, from 2:00-3:00 PM (PDT), OSAF staff assembles on the Chandler channel of OSAF's IRC web server irc.osafoundation.org. I try to participate whenever possible and will be there today.
The complete Chat Schedule, including logs of past Chats, is here
More info on how to join the Chat and how to get started with IRC is here
Why IRC? Of the various alternatives, it seemed to be the one most widely accepted in the developer community. It's far from ideal , but we do manage get by.

Great project but recently I was directed to a new product that had turned from commercial to open source by the name of Convea: http://www.convea.com
It provides many PIM and groupware functions. Have you seen this? What are your thoughts and can any of the development be leveraged?

This is a browser-based product. I read the open source announcement but haven't seen exactly how they are manifesting themselves as open source. It will be interesting to follow up.

Hi !
Convea is a nice web based application but it is not useful when you do not have the posibility to get conected.
Personally I find the application proposed by seaside much more interesting because it can be used offline thanks to a diskonley : http://www.seasidesw.com/products/xkey.htm
However it is not open source ;-).
Do you plan to make chandler accessible offline on a diskonkey ? It would be great. I have been searching for such an application (a PIM which can be installed on a diskonkey and used online or offline) for about three years. It would be for my students.
You can have a look to a french application which seems to be interesting : abcommunicator

PS : sorry for my poor english ;-)
